Artist's Description
I was on a mission to find driftwood in the form of a root ball during a recent trip to the west side of the island. After struggling to find anything other than logs, it dawned on me the power of the open ocean wouldn't leave the fines we find on some of the driftwood on the more sheltered east side of the island. This was one piece I was able to find.

Randy Hall is a Vancouver Island photographer specializing in nature photography, whether it is capturing natural settings such as seascapes or forest landscapes or the plants and animals that inhabit this part of British Columbia.
