This is day 3 of the 2018 roe herring fishery and it's currently the gill netters doing the fishing. While they wait their turn, seiners like the Western Gambler, shown here, are hired out as packers. This allows the gill netters to stay on the fishing grounds while the seiners take the herring to the processing plant.
