This is the Little Qualicum River, right next to Highway 19A. Autumn is a time for great colours and for fishing for the big one on local rivers. Salmon are heading upstream from the ocean and some of the obstacles they have to get past are the fly fishermen that line the river. Throw in some sunshine on a late afternoon and it makes for a good photo op.
