As much as we hear how powerful these majestic animals are, when you witness them in person, you gain a true appreciation. After breaching several times, this whale still had enough strength to lift two thirds of its body out of the water and slam its tail on the surface. At first I thought this was another "splash photo", but if you look at the top of the splash, you can see the tail fluke.
