This is my first time seeing a young sandhill crane...also known as a colt, due to it's long, spindly legs. The resident cranes, at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, initially had two colts this year, but after a case of sibling rivalry and survival of the fittest, only one remains. Fingers are crossed it will survive to maturity.
