Artist's Description
This would turn out to be a historic occasion. After 60 years, serving the forest industry as a firefighting behemoth, the Philippine Mars started its retirement flight from Sproat Lake to Arizona. It's seen here, taxiing past Battleship Island just prior to turning around and starting its takeoff run.
