I was just looking for an easy afternoon with some ducks and geese at Esquimalt Lagoon, but the constant chirping of this male Anna's Hummingbird put me on a different mission. I spent the better part of a couple of hours waiting to see if he'd flash some colour, but I had to settle for the bright green in the body and wing feathers. Either way, it was a peaceful afternoon, enjoying nature.
Randy Hall is a Vancouver Island photographer specializing in nature photography, whether it is capturing natural settings such as seascapes or forest landscapes or the plants and animals that inhabit this part of British Columbia.
