Description
Before today, I had never seen a northern pygmy-owl in the wild. I knew they were small, but didn't appreciate how small until we were trying to spot this one. It was hanging out down in the valley, hooting and giving away it's location (sort of), then gradually made its way up the slope. Hoping to get a better look in a few weeks when it gets warm enough for it to move the rest of the way up to a perch in a nearby tree.
